Just watched the repeat episode showed all the roads i go on (y) (y) they did a karma gair VW conversion ok i love my v8 and petrol wouldnt be a petrolhead otherwise lol, made a nice change for a new program like this no silly gimic or practical jokes they got on with the job in hand did some tec stuf as well,
fair play to them all

I saw the trailer for this. Looked to be an interesting show. I'm not opposed to electrifying classic cars provided the original engine sound isn't part of the car's character... which means virtually no V8 powered car should have this treatment! lol

2nd program to nite then repeated at weekend

I managed to watch most of tonight's episode. It was a bit disappointing. I was hoping to see loads about battery banks, motors and controllers. But much of it was them cutting holes for charge sockets and other bodywork. I guess the content will vary per episode.

Doh, missed it. Sarah went out. I unwound on the PlayStation for a bit, then forgot all about it.

I to forgot so will watch repeat at weekend wen I was posting those e. Bay adds earlier I saw a few karman geir car for between 15 and 20k but the conversion cost 39k wow. Will it be worth it in long term???

New TV program new company got to find its feet and company got a job to do but with filming editing makes it hard as you say more tec would be nice.

Would I put electric in a yank tank No
Might just be a fad like the LPG conversion was a few years ago still going will electric? Once they have been around say 5 years and start needing repairs or recycle cost??

Battery technology is getting better. The early ones were 5 years. Tesla say they have a battery capable of 1million miles (not on one charge, but the entire life) so things are looking up.

Definitely. The other thing is, because many older cars had terribly inefficient, underpowered engines, converting them to electric would actually make them quicker!
I'd never convert it, but my Firebird is a good example... I know it's torquey, but standard is about 145hp.... from 5 litres! Lol

I wonder if there is a graph of life between a 5 litre producing 145hp or a 2 liter producing 145hp.
Perhaps the 2 litre would be worn out 100k miles, the 5 litre good for half a million?
Thinking of converting the Firebird? Sounds like it's a costly thing to do. Could you buy an old milk float and use the running gear, lol.

Yeah, I think that's part of it. I believe early American cars were designed as "plodders" with their longer journeys in mind, also, petrol is much cheaper over there. And they seem to care less than some countries about pollution lol.
No I would never convert the Firebird. As inefficient as the engine is, I think it's part of the car's appeal and I love it.
But for conversion donor vehicles, I had thought about that too. Or maybe a forklift truck?

Forklift truck around Monza, although sounds like it been convertest to combistion engine.
Video from a video game, looks pretty good.

True, they haven't been the worst, but they haven't been the best either looking at the graph below. I'm guessing you're going to say it's false or manipulated data?? I am not getting into a big debate over it because I am not too bothered about it TBH lol
But assuming all that we can find is manipulated, I would ask...how do we ever get past people's beliefs and opinions to find the true picture?
Below is what I found online, but feel free to post something showing a different perspective.

India ramping up. Have you seen all the trash they dump in rivers?
We need to do something about China, they create virises and polute our air. What can we do though, people keep buying items made in China.

Absolutely re China! Covid is one of several viruses to come out of there. I think an I internationally lead inquiry is needed to establish why.

Your right, more meaning less graphs that show a particular view point.
More relevant is that America pioneered the use of catalytic converters first fitted as standard in 1975, way ahead of Europe by almost 10 years.
California also led the the way with CAFE or corporate average fuel economy which prevented the aftermarket from providing parts that circumvented factory emissions equipment. Even today parts have to be certified CAFE to be used in California.
Next consider how engine output deceased from the 60’s 300+HP to about 1/2 that by the mid 70’s for the same engine. Why? Emissions equipment. All the smog prevention circuitry designed to reduce emissions alongside the reduction of both lift and duration on cam shafts. Duration in particular is a big negative for hydro carbon emissions.
Lastly, all over the US there used to be specially trained law enforcement officers who use to watch the trucks pull away from intersections. Any significant black smoke after the initial start would get the trucker pulled over and fined or issued a correctional certificate.
I would agree they don’t particularly care about fuel consumption like Europe has, but on vehicle emissions they left us standing. Consider what the average 70’s Cortina had apart from rust.

Wonder if Steve arnell gets fined for the black smoke from his trucks?
But back onto electric if companies like this grow? And tech get better? It could mean saving alot of cars but only if owners can afford the conversion?

Will the next generation of hotrodders take a prius and put into a old car body???????

I can't argue with much of that, particularly the part about the 70's Cortina. Even my 82 Firebird appeared to have more emission control related sensors than some British cars of the same era that I have played with.

Just watched the rerun for the fiat 500 conversion. Was OK improving. Didn't like the hinge set up was it treated so not to rust it was a domestic type hinge sure they could of fabucated a better option? But understand why customer wanted it fir London so fair play to the company
