Years and years ago I used to play SimCity, it was around the time when the Pentium P75 or the DX4/100 was out, so this was a long long time ago. Around 14 years... lol., just looked it up it was 1994 that processor came out. God don't the years fly past?!?.

Anyway I was thoroughly addicted to this game, it wasn't really multiplayer back then like this new one.

There is a chap who has recorded playing the game so you can see how it all works. He actually has 10 videos, seems to record everything he plays, and has a live stream, and saves it to you tube.

I need an excuse to not do some work at least one evening this week. Been laying out some circuit boards the last few evenings for two different people. Earn a few pennies to pay for car parts. Every little helps.
The trouble is, I think I'm gonna have a late night tonight if it is the game. Perhaps I should rest away from the computer, but that's not me. lol

I will fit the bathroom sink on Friday, and do some bits on the Trans Am over the weekend.

Awesome game, played it for a few hours last night. well i was off to a slow start.

Put the DVD in the new Laptop's CD rom drive. Although the drive was physically there, Windows 7 said I had no DVD drive, or CD drive at all. Went into the BIOS and it was there. Looks at Device manager and it wasn't. Went into Dell advanced utilities for SATA connections and the DVD drive was there. Found a little hidden tick bock to enable the device, and I finally got my D: drive. What a pa larva. Got it installed and it downloaded updates. This was okay as i was munching on dinner at this point.
I need to get more hours in on this, I have the day off work tommorow

The last time I played a major Sim City release (3 or 4, I think, it was about 8 years ago) my PC ground to a hault where it was getting on a bit. Hopefully this one will work on my PC which I've just upgraded (almost finished, just waiting on the CPU)

Runs well on my laptop, even at 1600x900 with all the 3d effects turned on like shadows etc.

I've played it most of the day toda and will be back on it when i get in.

Well played it for 52 hours now. Times flies when your playing it, Didn't eat lunch on Saturday, was on it from about 9am till 5pm, then had tea, then back on it till 11pm. Trouble is, you mind carries on playing in when you try to sleep, creating roads etc...

I've been looking at other people playing it, and its great to get ideas from it. This chap has many videos online.

Good one to watch so you get an idea of the game play too. Its very in depth, every car on ever road has a destination. Its not just creating buildings, its taking control of traffic, provide a good road layout, so the bin men can come, if the bin men cant empty bins, they overflow and people get ill, die, or move out. I've had around 150,000 people and trying to keep them all happy isn't easy. You may need to put up taxes but they become unhappy but you need the money to supply them power and water. Its a balancing act.
I thought I was doing well, then had a meteor shower, destroyed a few building and left radiation behind which then made people ill.

Well its lunch time now, I'm at work, and wish I brought my laptop in, so I could play it more in my lunch break.

Its certainly worth getting. Its difficult to copy, as it requires you to log in online, I'm sure someone will crack it, but I'd rather keep the games industry going for little cost. Hows the computer build going? all done now? Good luck with the bills and the dreaded MOT. Is it likely to pass?

Well, lets hope so. To be honest, if it struggles with an i7 3770K, 16GB of RAM, and an SSD cache drive something ain't right :lol:
