Tyres

Can anyone recommend somewhere reasonably cheap in Portsmouth to get tyres for my pt cruiser please? I'm just fed up with the prices and crappie service I get from places like Halford and kwik fit. Many thanks for your time.

I tend to buy my tyres online from https://www.mytyres.co.uk/
Only £5 delivery for any amount of tyres. You will still need to visit a tyre place to fit them, but the amount of money you save online you should still be saving money. I have used Denmead and Horndean tyres for fitting tyres I supply. I think its was £12 per tyre.
When denmead tyres wanted to charge me £200+ per tyre and it only cost me £89 + fitting for buying online it was quite a bit of a saving for me.
I don't know of tyres places near you, hopefully if you go this route there are places that fit tyres you supply.

If mytyres don't bring you joy, I have used BlackCircles in the past and also very useful.

some garages have stoped fitting customer supplied tyres so check 1st , the denmead garage is that the national tyres place or am i think of somewhere else ? as national tyres used to fit and do good deal weather it was because we had the maintenance contract or not??

For years I have bought my tyres online as they are nearly always cheaper than buying locally. There are some good deals on eBay. But as has been said, do check where you can get them fitted as some places won't do it.
Also, you can save yourself a packet by avoiding leading branded tyres like Michelin, Bridgestone or Pirelli etc. Many of the budget brands are very good these days and unless you drive like Lewis Hamilton or do very high mileage, you'll hardly notice the difference lol.

Denmead Tyres is the only tyre place in Denmead, they do tracking too, and have the parameters for the Trans-am in their system. I don't think they are a part of a larger franchise. Both Denmead and Horndean tyres fitted tyres for me last year.

May be worth finding a tyre place in Portsmouth that is not part of a larger group, and give them a call if they can fit tyres you supply.

Very True, I have used Falken, Avons, Kuhmo and Nanchangs. Our of all of them I found Nanchang perform extremely well, good tyre wear and superb grip. Many people wont touch them because of the name, but its one of may favourites.

Just looked it up national tyres bedhampton havant , wasnt that far away, lol,,
yes agrree some good tyres on e,bay i brought some winter tyres for the subaru only cost me 3 packs of biscuits for the garage to fit ,result

Never heard of Nanchangs!
My experience with Falkens was not so positive.
I had the FK452, and they were skittish. They never let go by they didn’t inspire confidence.
I’ve had very good experience with Kumho to the point where we have had 3 sets on different cars over the years.
Currently running Yokohama’s and they are the best of the cheaper tyres. They do inspire confidence and stuck like sh*t to a wool blanket!
Best tyres I’ve run? Michelin Pilot Sport. No hesitation there.

Could those tyres be Nanking Dan?? If so, I've had those before and they were fine. I've just had a pair of Runway branded ones fitted actually and they are good too.

Ah, looks like I spelt it wrong, sounds similar, lol These are the ones on all 4 corners of the T/A.
