    turbo rebuild

    stepson has a mitsubishi evo 8 turbo packed up ! apparently the blades inside and bearings worn .anyone know of anyone who has the knowledge and skills to take on the job ??

    There is or was a turbo place in chichester on the small industrial est as you turn right at the roundabout for stockbridge on to birdham road or turbo tecnics if still going in hampshire aldershot way from memory
    Upgrades = Saleen supercharger kit with JDM tune, 3.4 pulley , keene bell boost a pump , 62mm Twin Throttle body with spacer, EBC drilled grooved vented discs up front with red stuff pads all round , Boost gauge and Fuel psi gauge ,oil seperator, Additional cooling fans for heat exchanger, 7 row oil cooler BMR rear lower control arms. Exedy stage 1 clutch kit. 481Bhp total. Plus all the normal refinements you get with a saleen mustang production number 192 of 945 for that year.. New PB at santa pod 12.75sec 1/4 mile

    Hi, does he have any symptoms that the bearings have gone, blue smoke on off boost (lift off) if there was a problem with blades, i.e. damaged he could be in trouble with his engine, so has he had it inspected for damaged blades? The big problem with turbo issues is that you don't necessarily know until it's too late :/ Also if he is replacing it with a stock turbo why not just give it to a reliable garage, it's not a hard job.

    turbo off and taken to reputable garage who on inspecting it said the blades are all ok but the spindle or shaft is loose they are to either rebuild or find a substitute so hopefully he will be back on the road soon . many thanks for all replies
