Should I add white lettering to the new tyres?

As anyone following my 10th Anniversary thread knows, I am replacing the stock 225/70 tyres with 255/60 tyres.
The advantages of slightly lower profile and wider tread pattern are in keeping with my build theme and will suffice until I can afford to upgrade the size of the wheels and put even better tyres under her.
But, the stock tyres come with the lettering "BF Goodrich" and "Radial T/A" in white, whereas the new tyres, a brand called Marshall, don't have any white lettering at all.
So, is the white lettering part of the look and should I imitate this on the tyres or just leave them black?

I do like white lettering on the older cars like yours. It set off my 3rd gen quite well with XP General in white lettering. So I vote yes for this one, I think it would suit your car.

Can you not get them with lettering already painted on? Have you tried Northants tyres? 255/60R15 American Tyre

They have two brands with white lettering. Not sure what you think of the grip of those brands.

I already have the tyres - I got a stonking deal on a set of 5 last year, 4 with less than 1000 miles and one with 0 miles on for just £80!!!
I can add white lettering using a special pen - we have done this before, also on a 3rd gen.
    Thanks for voting!

Yep true. I think it's the type of car, if you asked the same question for a 4th gen Camaro or Chevy Lacetti you would get mixed answered or all one sided the other way.

So get that white paint ready, you know what you are gonna be doing.
