Took the T/A to work today, last week drove it around the country lanes. It is running well. Even though the drive around the lanes was under 30mins, it got nice and warm usually with the uphills, and that I would normally smell a bit of oil due to not fixing the sump leak. Checked the oil this morning again (check it always before driving anywhere) level is half way, so yet it has fallen a bit, but not as much as it normally would for a trip that length. Could the small leak in the oil pan fix itself over time.... well seems to have done so far, but will still keep checking that dipstick until I fix it good and proper.

Is there room to use a U shaped bracket to clamp the oil pan where the broken stud is?

And it looks like the battery is toast!
The two ‘dumb’ maintainers I have both fail to recognize the battery is even there when connected and my smart charger tries valiantly to do something with it but eventually gives up and says “battery bad”!

It is a genuine Mopar battery and possibly original so not bad. Just annoys me that something as simple as forgetting to unplug the dashcam has caused it. Even more annoying that society is so f**ked up that I need a dashcam to start with!
Oh well. Will have to source a replacement now.

try connecting a small bulb to the battery whiile charging this sometimes fools the smart chargers into thinking the battery is taking a charge its worked for me several times

Haven’t tried the bulb trick but a new battery can be had for less than £70 from a place only a mile
    From home.
But, I dug out my old fashioned charger. And it appears to take a charge. I charged it for a few hours which took the voltage to 11.6v
Then I switched to the smart charger which now recognizes the battery and I’ve left it doing its thing.
I’ll give it until I get home tomorrow evening and try turning it over.

Good old fashion chargers. I have one in my shed that I brought when I owned my Opel Manta, so back in 1996, and it still works great. I keep meaning to take a photo of it and post on here.

Well, due to other circumstances I haven’t checked it since.
I’ll get out there tonight and see what’s going on and maybe start the car if the battery will allow it!
