• Wings & Wheels 2017

The show is held at Dunsfold Aerodrome (location of the TopGear track). 26th to 27th August 2017. Soo much to see all day. A very impressive air show including the Red Arrows, stunt planes and World War planes. There were also cars racing down the air strip side by side, great to see and hear cars on full chat.
Loads of cars in a static show to walk around and chat to owners. Also a fairground, stalls, food, ice cream, them balls you can go in on water. Soo much to see and do, great for the whole family.
Organising and marshalling was very good too, no queues, hassle free. I left a little early and fetched a marshall to be escorted out. it was no issue at all for them, they were very kind, and it was much appreciated.

      Good pics Dan.
      But.... #188. Looks like a Bullnose Trans-Am, 70-73, but it has a 79-81 backend and t-tops.
I never checked the VIN, so is it a modified early car or a bastardised late 2nd gen?
      I reckon the latter.

If that was the one on the POC club stand, I heard him mention he put the incorrect nose on the car. To me it didn't look wrong, but I guess you would need to know about your years to spot it.

      This one?

Yes that's the one. I guess the reg number would validate the 1980 claim. I didn't notice the number plate before.

The air show was spectacular. The red arrows and the dog fight between the ME109 and the Spitfire, was great.

Yeah the dogfight was almost 1/2 hour from 3:30 'ish until almost 4.
We saw you go, you drove right past us but i guess you were focused on keeping up with the Marshall who was walking you out!!

Doh! sorry about that, didn't notice you. focused on avoiding zombie pedestrians and following the marshals.

They were very health and safety conscious. Even we had to be escorted out gone 4pm.

Must take them ages if all 300 or so cars wanted to leave. If it does not close to the public till 6pm, I think many cars may have left by then.

The marshall told us that cars shouldnt be leaving until at least 5.30 unless you have a good reason - our reason was that we had a long drive home! She was happy with that

We were under the impression it was 4pm. It's highly unlikely we would stay at any show much later than 4pm as we do travel quite a distance, usually.
