Be interesting to drop a big block Chevy in there, but no. That's not what this build is about.

Dropped her off at the body shop

But the parts for the build keep getting ordered!
But as we need it as a tow vehicle very soon after it returns from the body shop most work will take place in later September now.

When do you expect to get her back so you can start putting on the parts?

It's possible by this weekend coming, but the following weekend is our deadline.
I will fit a transmission cooler and service all the fluids, along with quietening down a bit.
The major work will take place towards the back end of September once it's done it's first towing job.

      Few more packages have arrived

Still no van to put them on yet though as she's still away at paintshop - hoping to hear that she'll be ready for collection this weekend but don't want to chase yet !

Ok had a call from the paint shop today - not good news!! The van has been painted a few times before and one of the colours (purple lol) has caused the primer to react! So I am now having to make a big decision about the final paint

Was he painting primer over paint for it to react? Surely you take it back to primer atleast before painting primer, or have I got my wires crossed.
Either way it's a set back. Hope it all gets resolved and it turns out perfectly to how you want it.

Yes he was prime ring over one of the layers of paint - this is normal I believe

He reckons there were 7-8 layers and that particular paint probably wasn't proper automotive paint.

Hoping it'll be back weds/thurs. (fingers crossed) I'm getting itchy feet as just want to drive her!

Plus there is a lot of work stretching out in front of me. Need to get on with it before the first frosts of the winter!!

I can understand you are itching to get in a drive it with that nice exhaust note.

Can't answer that one Dan. But as it's a subject I know little about I have to put faith in my painter. He has never steered us wrong before and we have used him a few times.

Maybe out the bodyshop today or tomorrow.
So I know I will be fitting a muffler and a Trans cooler along with an all fluids change on Saturday.

Been having a right argument with UPS! My 3 huge packages should've been delivered Tuesday after me paying them nearly £350 in VAT. So it shows as being out for delivery yesterday and then at 7.15pm it says sorry your delivery is delayed by a day! So checked again today and at 3.38am it says it's out for delivery again. At 6.30pm still no delivery. So as I'm getting them delivered to my parents - they have just now waited in for two whole days. so when I got home from work I rang UPS (definitely not UK based) and kick up one hellova stink (my blood pressure must've been through the roof lol) They tell me they have to email the Bristol depot who will call me back. I get said call who say the reason for non-delivery is due to not having enough drivers !?!?! Anyway the call ended with them promising me it will be delivered tomorrow with a view to getting my shipping refunded - hmmm I wonder if they mean my shipping from Summit??. Could be interesting as that's nearly £400 !

That will be a bonus if they refund your shipping, you could buy more parts with that.
If the UPS depot local? I know it's sometimes difficult to get there due to work, but it may be quicker to fetch it. However with this temptation of refunded shipping it sounds like it worth waiting it out.

Depot is Bristol, and although Clare is close there is no way she could carry this on the train.
My job is just south of Birmingham so impossible for me to get there.
