Its been quite a few weeks since the last update, so here goes.
This weekend saw a flurry of activity with potential buyers coming around to view the car. There was usual low-ball offers, everyone wants a bargain so I can't whinge too much about it but I stuck to my guns. Yesterday saw a chap drive all the way from Kent to view the car. He was thorough and climbed all over the car, but was smitten from the start.
Lots of questions, a little test drive and the deal was done at a price we are both happy with.
The money hit the bank this morning and the plan is that he will collect the TA on Friday.
Kind of a bitter sweet moment really. I love 2nd gen Trans-Am's but the driving experience is just not good enough. Sure I can build it to give me the driving experience but the cost is huge and the car will never be worth that cost, and in all honesty, I shouldn't have bought a 1 of 7500 to do it to either. A regular "plain jane" Trans-Am would have been a better choice.
I will still fawn and drool over them at shows and when I see them on TV but having gone backwards and tried it, I know its not for me.... yet! Maybe when my pension is paying out and not in!!!!!

So what will follow it? Patience all - I will show you soon!

Are yes this is the same conclusion that I came to... You can make a 70s car handle but you need to throw much much money at it to do so.!!! Then you end up with something that's not a 70s car so wots the point and its cost you more than the modern day motor.I was sad to see mine go but it was the right thing to do... Now where's the money for the hell cat !!!

Thats a good question... where is the money for a hellcat?
Actually, I have read that unless high horsepower is needed (drag racing for example), the Scat Pack offers a better drive on the roads for normal use. The power is more accessible and useable as the tyres can cope, the hellcat just blows the tyres off all the time.

And just where is this Mopar stuff coming from? I have been a GM man all my life!!

And the book closes. The TATA is on its way to its new home with a happy owner.
Thanks for reading all the updates as I went through the trials and tribulations of getting back to my roots. It's been fun even if expensive.... But who said enjoyment was cheap anyway?!
